Tickets go on sale today for 'Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson,' the new Broadway musical from talk show host Kathie Lee Gifford.

The musical tells the tale of real-life Evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson, also known as Sister Aimee, who used progressive media techniques to promote her conservative religious sermons, making her a celebrity superstar and religious pioneer. Founding the Foursquare Church in Los Angeles, McPherson is most well-known for using radio and popular entertainment to spread her holy word.

Gifford wrote the book and lyrics to 'Scandalous,' along with a score by David Pomeranz. Two-time Tony nominee Carolee Carmello (who previously starred in Sister Act and Mama Mia) will star as McPherson. Check out Gifford hail Carmello as “the most brilliant woman working on Broadway" when she recently visited Jimmy Fallon to discuss the production.

'Scandalous' opens November 15 at the Neil Simon Theater.

In the meantime, if you're interested, you can watch Gifford eat a beastly 55 lb. birthday cake in the video below. (We're hoping this somehow makes it into the production, but we doubt it.)
