'Toddlers & Tiaras': Daughter Thinks Money Should Go To College

Everybody knows all about pageant moms, but on "Toddlers & Tiaras," it was a pageant dad who stole the show. And saved it for his daughter, Hailey. Chris said that his daughter was a little shy, so he decided to put her in her first pageant to help bring her out of her shell.

And he shelled out plenty of cash to do it. "It was $4,000 and then it was $1,000 for the alterations," Chris proudly said.

"If I had $5,000 I would save it," Hailey said. "I think it’s college you have to pay for, right?"

That's right, it was the daughter who was thinking of how far that five grand could go toward her future -- even if she wasn't exactly certain what that future was. For the record, college is exactly what you have to pay for, Hailey.

Chris, however, felt that it was absolutely worth it. But surely there are cheaper ways to battle shyness?

The fifth season of "Toddlers & Tiaras" is back, and continues on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
