Tom Wolfe: America 'Has No Class Feelings' (VIDEO)

Tom Wolfe recently appeared in an on-camera interview with The Daily Beast to discuss Wall Street in light of the 25th anniversary of Wolfe's novel Bonfire of the Vanities.

Wolfe claims that America "has no class feelings." He believes that classes in the United States are "manufactured."

In addition to this, a full piece written by Tom Wolfe headlined the latest issue of Newsweek. In the article Wolfe looks back at the lead character of Vanities, bond trader Sherman McCoy, in reference to present day Wall Street.

Fans will be excited because he reveals some new information about McCoy:

When examining the question of "How would McCoy fare?," Wolfe responds:

"He wouldn't have a high testosterone level. He'd have a high cortisol level, indicating stress... think of the way we used to shout and curse at one another, not very pretty, certainly not genteel, but it sure kept the adrenaline flowing and the testosterone pumping.. Look at us now, all but strapped into our chairs, mute, trying to monitor six screens at once.. There's not a sound in here! It's like an insurance office. We're not fighting anyone about anything."
