WATCH: Tony Danza Raps About Brooklyn

Tony Danza gave a surprising rap performance Sunday to promote his new book, "I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had" at the Brooklyn Book Festival.

The proud Brooklyn-born actor sat alongside borough president Marty Markowitz, as he rapped a long list of famous Kings County natives, including Busta Rhymes, Jackie Gleason, Arthur Miller, Jay-Z, and Larry David, among many others.

Danza's rapping showcase follows his recent comments expressing a desire to potentially run for mayor in 2013. The 61-year-old "Who's the Boss" actor said in August, "I’m of a certain age, and you see things, and you think maybe you could help. You say: ‘Let me fix the city. Let me run for Mayor."

(A spokesperson for Danza later downplayed the comment, saying the actor isn't going to run for Mayor, but is instead looking forward to working on a new sitcom for ABC.)

Sunday's literary event included readings and conversations from prominent authors including Mary Higgins Clark, Pete Hamill, and Terry McMillan.
