Beloved "Everwood" patriarch Treat Williams will be visiting NBC's "Chicago Fire" in the new year, according to TV Guide.

Williams will play Benny Severide, the father of Taylor Kinney's character, Kelly. Benny is described as a "tough guy who also used to work as a fireman," and TV Guide notes that father and son have had a tumultuous relationship in the past. He's tapped to appear in multiple episodes beginning January.

In other casting news ...

"24" alum will appear on "Once Upon a Time." Gregory Itzin is set to play Dr. Whale/Frankenstein's (David Anders) father, Alphonse, in Episode 12. [TV Line]

"Nashville" books "Jane By Design" hunk. David Clayton Rogers will play an ex-con who crosses paths with Sam Palladio's Gunnar. [The Hollywood Reporter]

"Guiding Light" vets join "The Bold and the Beautiful." Karla Mosley and Lawrence Saint-Victor will appear in separate storylines on the CBS soap. Mosley plays Maya, a woman with a Skid Row connection to Dayzee (Kristolyn Lloyd), while Saint-Victor will play the adopted brother of Dayzee's husband Marcus (Texas Battle). [TV Guide]

"Scandal" star to direct upcoming episode. Tony Goldwyn, who plays President Fitzgerald Grant on the ABC drama, is set to direct an undetermined episode this season. [THR]
