UPDATE, 9/15:

According to ABC News, the pilot was removed from the plane after it had already left the gate. According to the Associated Press, he was administered a breathalyzer test, which he failed (he blew .023%, just over the legal limit in the Netherlands).

This is the fourth time in the past year that pilots have been removed from planes due to alcohol-related issues. WATCH VIDEO BELOW.

Dutch police apprehended a U.S. pilot in his cockpit Tuesday for having alcohol in his system just minutes before he was to take off, a statement said.

The 52-year-old from Woodbury, New Jersey, "was in the cockpit of a plane from a foreign airline that was about to take off" from Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, Dutch police said in a statement, according to the New York Post.
