Listen To These Parents Teach Their Kids About Consent

“Maybe even means no. Got it? Good.”

A new video is offering an important look at how parents are approaching the topic of sex and consent with their kids.

A video produced by Cut features parents explaining the meaning of consent to their children. While the video didn’t touch much on sexuality (parents were provided with one doll that was a man and one that was a woman), the conversation highlighted why consent is so important.

From defining the word as “giving permission” to encouraging the kids to speak up if someone is ignoring the concept of consent (”If Ken is not acting appropriately it’d be good if his friends kind of move him back”), most of the parents came back to one line: “No means no.”

One mom even added: “Maybe even means no. Got it? Good.”
