This 594-Foot-High Basketball Shot 'For Mankind' Is Out Of This World

He nailed the record-breaking feat on the third try.

The trick shot artists from How Ridiculous got really high for this one.

HR’s Derek Herron sank a basketball from nearly 594 feet atop the Mauvoisin Dam in Valais, Switzerland. It broke the previous record of 533 feet, Guinness World Records confirmed.

Dam.

The basket was so far below that Herron couldn’t tell if he had made it.

“It was a surreal moment nailing it on the third shot,” he told Guinness. “I watched the ball head towards the rim and saw the net move but still had my doubts that it went in until I saw Scott [Gaunson] going crazy.”

The Aussie YouTubers declared in the clip that they attempted the stunt “for mankind” and wanted to “inspire others to keep achieving greatness.”

It just looks fun to us.
