Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria -- they seem like nice girls, but honestly, no sense of direction. Seems they could have used friends like us to steer them through their roughest of waters. And with our BGG money-saving tips, they wouldn't have needed benefactors just to go from point A to B -- or they could have used their surplus on some seriously amazing spoils. So, grab your friends and prepare for the week ahead because (get real) this city never takes a day off. Here's what we're up to:

Monday

If the weekend left you a little, well, unkempt, make sure your first stop of the week is the Brows and Bubbly at Benefit boutique on West 3rd. Once you're expertly manicured (and effervescently rehydrated), head east to Echo Park for an American small plates dinner at Red Hill.

After, make your way to The Echo for their Monday night residency with local It-band Superhumanoids. They're joined by Carousel and a DJ set by Mr. Little Jeans. Later, if you need a venue in which to wind it down (and give your ears a rest), check out the new patio at Echo Park fixture Brite Spot. Nothing like a little 1 a.m. pancake stack on a Monday night. Make that Tuesday morning.

Hit play: Superhumanoids -- Too Young For Love

Tuesday

Stop by the W Westwood after work for brand-new happy hour specials at both NINETHIRTY and Whiskey Blue. At the former, choose any two items for a mere $12, three items for $15. And by "items" what we really mean are modern-day delicacies like freshly shucked oysters and potato puffs with black truffle fondue.

Once your craving for half-priced wine and bivalves is sufficiently sated, head to the Hammer Museum for a reading by she of the complicated and dark narrative, A. M. Homes. If the only thing you want to do after the reading isn't call your mom and tuck yourself into bed, we suggest a happy hour nightcap at Glendon Bar & Kitchen in Westwood Village.

Hit play: The Knife -- Pass This On

Wednesday

After dinner, stop by The Churchill on West 3rd to snack on elevated bar food (think duck fat popcorn and gruyere-laced gougères). Pair with an inventive, handcrafted cocktail (or two) and your sophistication quotient just may rise by 10 or more points.

Later, head to the El Rey to see Canadian obsession-igniter Grimes play her extra-special brand of kooky breakbeats and sweet-as-a-Christmas-angel vocal performance. Plus, she's bound to wear something insane (in the best possible way).

Hit play: Grimes -- Genesis

Thursday

Start your night by checking out the newly revamped City Sip wine bar in Echo Park. Starting at 6 p.m., play spin the bottle to determine your happy hour special. After, grab pig-out vegan across the street at Mohawk Bend before heading to Los Globos for L.A. Is Burning, a '90s house dance party complete with a vogue-ing contest.

If your dancing style is more recreational than competitive, there's yet another throwback dance night available just for you (it's the Eastside after all). Check out the Short Stop back in Echo Park for their new freestyle and funk night Lookout Weekend, and go ahead and dance yourself into that aforementioned weekend.

Hit play: Nite Jewel -- She's Always Watching You
