WHAT IS IT?
This shift was made, of course, by Pendleton Woolen Mills, the storied brand best known for its Native American—inspired blankets. Founded in 1909, the Oregon-based company expanded into apparel with men's work shirts during the '20s, followed by women's sportswear 25 years later. This garment—which boasts an A-line silhouette, cuffed sleeves, and a patch pocket—telegraphs the '60s, while its black-and-white buffalo check pattern also recalls Pendleton's rugged roots. The label's experiencing a style resurgence right now, with collections for Levi Strauss and Urban Outfitters, which makes this find all the more desirable.
