White House Halloween Canceled, Crushing New Hope Of Obama Star Wars Party (PHOTO)

No White House Halloween, No Obama Star Wars Party

The devastation of Hurricane Sandy has understandably forced President Barack Obama to cancel Halloween festivities at the White House this year, as he travels north to survey the superstorm's wreckage.

It's a sad consequence of a much sadder tragedy, but we have to say, it's too bad that there won't be an opportunity to see the president and first lady flanked by a cohort of Star Wars characters this year. And yes, that has happened.

Of course, with the presidential election just days away, it's probably unlikely that Obama would have spent his Halloween hanging out with Chewbacca, a Togruta and a stormtrooper anyway.

While the White House put the kibosh on its Halloween celebrations altogether, New Jersey has decided to put its plans on hold. Gov. Chris Christie (R) signed an executive order on Wednesday officially postponing Halloween until Monday.
