The average American creates 4.5 pounds of trash per day. That's almost on one ton per year but we're able to ignore it because once trash is in the garbage it's as if it magically goes away. Truth is, it doesn't. With global warming is a very real issue for future generations, and activist Rob Greenfield thinks it's time we started thinking about the trash we create and where it goes after we toss it in the can.

For thirty days, Rob Greenfield is wearing every single piece of trash that he creates while eating, living, and creating waste like the average American, with one exception: Rob is wearing every piece of garbage he creates on his body. His commitment to wearing the specially made trash suit for a month may seem like a gag, but Rob's goal is to make us more conscious about the trash we create and what we can do to help.

Rob doesn't normally create 4.5 pounds of trash per day. In fact he lives a near zero waste lifestyle outside of Trash Me. In the high-consumption world that we live in today, this may seem unreasonable but Rob believes that with the right mindset it is possible to create far less waste and live a healthier life.

Reduce, reuse, recycle, and refuse on a regular basis. Your small efforts will go a long way. Your body and the planet will thank you for it.
