John Leguizamo Dishes On His 'Horrible' Week Without A Shower

The actor let his hygiene go for the sake of his temporary tattoos in "American Ultra."

An actor altering his body to get into a role isn't uncommon. But for John Leguizamo, becoming a tattooed purveyor of drugs for "American Ultra" required a commitment to his role that could not only be seen, but smelled.

When Leguizamo stopped by HuffPost Live on Wednesday to discuss the film, he explained the way hygiene got in the way of his costume.

"They draw [tattoos] on, some of them are glued on, and to take it off is another hour," Leguizamo said of the daily tattoo application. "So I said, 'How do I keep from doing this every day for four hours?' [The makeup artist] goes, 'Don't bathe, don't drink alcohol and don't sweat.' So I didn't bathe, I didn't sweat and I didn't alcoholize. And I kept them on for a week. It was horrible."
