If there's ever a time you need a little distraction in your life, it's during the divorce process. That's why we launched our Divorce Care Package series. With each post, we'll show you what things -- books, movies, recipes -- helped others relieve stress in the midst of divorce, in the hopes that a few of their picks will serve you well too. Below, Montegomery -- author of the action and adventure trilogy The Cave -- shares how invigorating it was to get away after her 14-year marriage ended.

"Working out!  After my divorce, I started working out five or six days a week. It was a great outlet for all of the pent up frustration and anger. Then I started lifting weights, taking yoga and doing pilates. I started feeling better, then looking better…and my self-esteem improved as the result."
