Will Ferrell Talks Drunk Experiment For 'Everything Must Go' On 'Chelsea Lately' (VIDEO)

Will Ferrell Reveals Drunk Mishaps After 18 Beers

With over a decade and a half in the limelight, part of Will Ferrell's great comedic appeal has been his ability to play a multitude of different roles. From his frustrated straight man impression of Alex Trebek on "Celebrity Jeopardy" to his cocksure dunce in "Anchorman," his comedic range enables him to reach out to nearly all audiences, sharing a thread of common appetite with every taste in humor.

As he transitions his career toward darker, indie roles (something he did earlier in unsung greats such as "Stranger than Fiction), Ferrell is tackling greater, more dramatic challenges. To do so, he's had to explore himself and his behavior at its most raw.

So to play an alcoholic in "Everything Must Go," he did his best to mimic the experience. By drinking 18 beers, and taping the shenanigans.

Ferrell, appearing recently on "Chelsea Lately," spoke to Chelsea Handler about the experience and what he learned. To sum it up: he's a happy drunk and a terrible cook. But there's a lot more to it than that.
