'The X Factor' Shocking Double Elimination Reveals Top 8

We don't know what's going on with "The X Factor," but the voters are doing the craziest things. Once again, they put some of the best vocalists in the bottom, and the show lost two of its best in another double-elimination. At the top of the hour, Khaya Cohen was eliminated -- with no chance of a judges' save.

“I feel OK," she said upon hearing the news. "I mean, it kind of sucks, but I’m just gonna keep going for what I was going for by doing this competition. It was a fun experience, so thank you.”

At the end of the hour, it was Tim Olstad who failed to get saved when the judges chose to keep Carlito Olivero over him. And, with no time left in the show, Tim didn't even get to say anything. Not that it may ultimately matter, considering how small the viewership has become on the show.

TV Line's Michael Slezak said that even the show's creator, Simon Cowell, knows this show is doomed in the U.S. "Pay no attention to the fact that Simon Cowell admitted on air that last week’s X Factor results were ‘a joke,'" he wrote. "Or that he’s now become so cynical about his U.S.-based singing competition that he gives standing ovations to his prefab country act Restless Road solely for the extra special way they fill out their Wranglers.” Daniel Fienberg agreed, saying that the "tiny subset of America watching ‘The X Factor’ and voting has no taste.”

"The X Factor" airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
