This is the time of year when we add more tasks onto our already burgeoning "to-do" lists. Our busy lives get even busier, and we don't devote time to nurturing ourselves. This can cause us to experience the side effects of a life not lived in balance: insomnia, fatigue, and low immunity, to name just a few.

Now is when it becomes even more important to schedule a moment of self-care and reap the rewards of that previous pause: peace, joy, and happiness. To help you in that process, I've selected "a few of my favorite" yoga blog posts that are perfect for the holiday season. If you're looking for a reason to practice one or all of them, just go take a long look in the mirror, deep into your own eyes, which are the windows to your soul.

This restorative sequence will stretch tired backs and legs and relieve tight necks and shoulders that have been hunched over the wheel or computer or leaning over the stove for hours.

This sequence for insomnia will help quiet noisy minds and bring you back to the present using specific breathing techniques. A good night's sleep always helps to make the day's challenges seem more manageable.

This sequence is a suit of armor for this time of year when we find ourselves in close quarters and closer contact with friends and family who may have colds or viruses. It also rejuvenates our own lagging immunity that is reduced by a hectic schedule of festivities.

Remember that you can derive much benefit from even a few moments of practice and help you ring in the New Year full of health and happiness!

Namaskar,
