Zach Randolph Rips Refs After Grizzlies' Loss To Rockets [UPDATED]

Z-Bo Rips Refs After Loss

Memphis' Zach Randolph was not happy with the officiating after losing to the Houston Rockets on Thursday night.

"It's obvious it was the refs tonight. I mean, eight against five," Z-Bo said. "The game, in the second half, the man shoot a free throw every time. We're out there playing hard. They're dictating the game. Can't be like that man. We're out here playing too. It was horrible refereeing, it was a horrible game they reffed tonight. Awful."

The Rockets ended up shooting 40 free throws (and made 33 of them), while the Grizzlies only shot 20. As for "the man" Randolph mentions, he may have been referring to Houston's James Harden who finished with a game-high 27 points. Despite the 27 points, Harden only shot 2 for 9 from from the field. But the bearded All-Star made 22 of 25 foul shots.

According to Elias Sports Bureau, Harden's 27 points is the most in a game in NBA history for a player making two or fewer field goals.

"Just being aggressive, being aggressive. I couldn't make a shot. I just tried to get to the rim," Harden said of his free throws after the win. "We were kind of stagnant through the middle of the game, especially the third quarter, so I just wanted to get in attack mode."

UPDATE: Randolph was fined $25,000 for his comments.
