Founded in 2009 by the Nagel family, the 4 Yellow Foundation has raised more than $850,000 for LIVESTRONG in the global fight against cancer through events such as Swing Fore Yellow, Ski 4 Yellow, and Ride 4 Yellow hosted in Texas and Colorado. Due to its success, 4 Yellow events became LIVESTRONG's premiere grassroots fundraisers in 2009 and 2010. This year the foundation continued the fight against cancer via Dress 4 Yellow, a high-profile fashion show and luncheon benefiting LIVESTRONG and Cook Children's Cancer Center that took place at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas, Texas on April 5.
The Dress 4 Yellow event kicked off with a luncheon and presentation by LIVESTRONG founder and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong followed by a runway show featuring designs by more than 20 of the world's top designers including Elie Tahari, Thakoon, Donna Karan, Isaac Mizrahi, Catherine Malandrino. Each designer produced a custom-made yellow piece or yellow design from archived collections.
Mulu, a distinctive new social media platform, launched a contest in partnership with Dress 4 Yellow. Mulu challenges users -- like myself -- to curate collections of their favorite yellow things from anywhere online on their Mulu page and share with their community. The person whose yellow picks earn the most money will win a seat at the table hosted by Lance Armstrong at the event along with hotel accommodations and roundtrip travel. The contest ended on April 3, and Ashley was the lucky Mulu winner.
