Millennials Rally Support for Hillary

By, Siraj Hashmi

Last week, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appeared before the House Select Committee on Benghazi to testify on her account of the 2012 Benghazi attack that took place on the evening of September 11, 2012 when the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya was attacked by terrorists, killing four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya J. Christopher Stevens.

While many Democrats and supporters of Secretary Clinton believe that little was revealed in the Benghazi hearing, the FBI has a pending investigation on Clinton's use of a private email server during her tenure with the State Department.

Millennials, however, are rallying in support of Clinton when she hosted her first campaign event after the Benghazi hearing in Alexandria, Virginia. An NBC News-Survey Monkey poll found that Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is leading Clinton with millennials 54 percent to 26 percent. However, between Hillary's performance in the first Democratic debate, VP Joe Biden announcing that he's not running and the Benghazi hearing giving her the best week and a half of her campaign, those numbers are likely to swing in Clinton's favor.
