WATCH: 1st Male Mexican Immigrant Goes from Rough Neighborhood to Harvard's Doctoral Program

Cesar Cruz is the first male Mexican immigrant to attend Harvard University's Graduate School of Education in the Doctoral Program for Education Leadership. A teacher for 19 years, Cesar co-founded Oakland, CA's Homies Empowerment Program to stop gang violence. While Cesar is at Harvard University, he hopes to find funding and support to launch an after-school center for Oakland youth in areas of high gang violence.
