Gender equality in the workplace and corporate board rooms was at the center of debate during "The Gender Agenda," a show produced by CNBC at the 2010 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland last week.
Arianna led a small team of high profile executives who included Coca Cola CEO Muhtar Kent and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg. They aimed to convince a live audience why corporate leaders should make gender equality a top priority.
Arianna argued that while many agree with the notion of gender parity, few corporations have made it happen. She took a more behavioral approach to the question and told the audience that to keep women on board, corporate culture must be purged of toxic stress. She also believes that women need to change how they internalize feminine qualities and that women should be taught to work past fears of failure.
