HuffPost's Senior Congressional Correspondent Ryan Grim appeared on MSNBC Monday to talk about Democratic candidates willing to turn against President Obama in the upcoming midterm elections.

Grim explained that congress is in a "whatever works" mode and incumbents are willing to campaign against the president it if doing so means keeping their seats.

MSNBC's Tamryn Hall noted that criticism of Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine is mounting as high-profile Democrats decided, one after another, not to run for re-election. Grim said that "there does seem to be a failure in basic strategy."
