I'm a big fan of Glassdoor, the company that provides an amazing level of transparency into what it's like to work at various organizations. You can get salary information, honest employee reviews, information on the corporate culture, and much more. Glassdoor also has an amazing amount of data and information on what makes a great place to work and what employees care about. Think of it a bit like Yelp for people searching for jobs. They also release their annual "best place to work award," which looks at employee review data to see which companies have the most highest rated employee reviews. Recently Glassdoor released their highest rated CEOs list for 2015 which I wanted to share with you here. These are broken down by small & medium size companies and large companies, I have included both below. So without further adieu, here are the highest rates CEOs of 2015 as ranked by employee reviews on Glassdoor.

CEOs of small and medium businesses ranked in order of top 10
#1 Frank Williams, CEO of Evolent Health, 98% approve
#2 Tobias A. Dengel, CEO of WillowTree, 98% approve
#3 Renaud Laplanche, CEO of LendingClub, 98% approve
#4 Greg Penske, CEO of Penske Motor Group, 98% approve
#5 David Durand, CEO of Best Version Media, 98% approve
#6 Scott Smith, CEO of OneGuard, 98% approve
#7 Kevin Hartz, CEO of Eventbrite, 97% approve
#8 John Dowd, CEO of Sundance Vacations, 95% approve
#9 Darius John Mirshahzadeh, CEO of Endeavor America Loan Services, 95% approve
#10 Brian Halligan, CEO Hubspot, 94% approve

CEOs of large organizations ranked in order of top 10
#1 Larry Page, CEO of Google, 97% approve
#2 Mark G. Parker, CEO of Nike, 97% approve
#3 Charles C. Butt, CEO of HEB, 96% approve
#4 Mark Zuckerberg, CEO Facebook, 95% approve
#5 Scott Scherr, CEO of Ultimate Software, 95% approve
#6 Hugh Grant, CEO of Monsanto Company, 95% approve
#7 Lloyd C. Blankfein, CEO of Goldman Sachs, 95% approve
#8 John E. Schlifske, CEO of Northwestern Mutual, 95% approve
#9 Glenn Johnson, CEO of Insight Global, 94% approve
#10 Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, 94% approve

What's particularly interesting about both of these lists is that there is not a single female on either the top 50 large list or the top 25 small/medium list. However, the folks at Glassdoor recently did release the top 5 highest rated women CEOs on Glassdoor. These included:

#1 Mary Barra, CEO of GM, 86% approve
#2 Pamela Nicholson, CEO of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 84% approve
#3 Kay Krill, CEO of Ann Taylor, 84% approve
#4 Marillyn Hewson, CEO of Lockheed Martin, 83% approve
#5 Sharen Turney, CEO of Victoria's Secret Stores, 83% approve

Still even when including the list of top ranked female CEOs, the highest rated female CEO scores lower than the lowest rated CEO from the top two lists. So there is quite a discrepancy between how men and women CEOs are rated, which I find rather curious. What do you think of the list? Does anything else catch your attention that is worth pointing out? Let me know in the comments below!
