With age comes wisdom and also savings! The holidays are around the corner and that means we are all looking for any way we can save on all of those purchases we will inevitably be making. The older set has a leg up over the 20, 30 and 40 somethings because they can take advantage of senior discounts. Some "senior" discounts kick in as early as 50, so even if you don't feel all that senior, you can still benefit from these special offers.

Toys"R"Us & Babies"R"Us

  • When: Monday - Thursday

  • Who: AARP members

Just show your AARP card at any "R"Us store and you'll save $5 on your purchase of $25 or more. It's the perfect way to save on all of those gifts for the grandkids.

Kohl's

  • When: Wednesdays
  • What: 15% off
  • Who: 60+

It's possible to get an item for everyone (and yourself) on your list at Kohl's. Plus, this department store frequently offers coupons, sales, and Kohl's Cash promotions, so you'll find multiple ways to save.

Ross

You can save at Bealls even if it's not a Tuesday so long as you have a smart phone. Bealls frequently offers mobile coupons you can use in store.

  • Who: 55+ or AARP members

Use your senior discount to stock up on stocking stuffers at Walgreen's. You must have a Balance Rewards card (it's free) in addition to meeting the age requirement. If you have an iPhone, you can load your Balance Rewards card to your Passbook app so it's always there when you need it. The next Seniors Day is Tuesday!

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army loves offering discount days. Promotions vary by location, but they often have Ladies' Night, Men's Night, student discounts, military discounts, and even a Super Senior Day where they increase the percentage off.
