Last weekend I was taking some photos of my cousin's kids. We just happened to be on a farm with brand new kittens prancing around in all their kitten cuteness and the kids were absolutely eating it up. It was perfect.
OK, it was purrrrfect.
I'm a lifestyle photographer, so I told the kids to just hang out, forget that I was there, just love those kittens. And then this happened:
They loved those kittens.
They great thing about this image is that it embodies everything that's awesome about being a kid. The curiosity, the wonder, the newness in every single moment. And then there's this kitten staring right back with the same curiosity, wonder and newness. Neither has a care in the world beyond that. very. second. This photo is the definition of living in the moment, and not just living it, appreciating it. Savoring it.
Carpe diem, baby.
And I think we all can take a lesson from that kind of kid awesomeness.
