Last Night More A High School Performance Than a VP Debate

Let's not forget Palin's experience as a sports announcer, which explains her rat-a-tat-tat delivery. I mean, this woman didn't skip a beat. Impressive performance. But that's mostly what it was. A performance.

So who won?No one. It was a tie.

Palin exceeded expectations, which wasn't too hard given the near bottomless depth of those expectations. But so did Biden. No gaffes. No sexist condescension. If anything Palin was the condescending one. No one won. No one lost.

It was a tie.

But now let's get honest. Let's admit that what we just witnessed, at least from Palin's side, was a well rehearsed debate student following her coaches' instructions to a "t." Some of the best debate coaches in the country.

And let's not forget her experience as a sports announcer, which explains her rat-a-tat-tat delivery. I mean, this woman didn't skip a beat. Kind of took my breath away, actually. Impressive performance. But that's mostly what it was. A performance. If this was a high school debate it might have even been good enough to win the trophy.

But this isn't a high school debate. This is way more serious than that. And no matter how well she is able to perform in a structured setting, nothing can erase the fact that she is not qualified for this office. Being a two term mayor of a small village, and short serving governor of one of the least populated, most remote states in our country, does not qualify her for this office.

Oh, and did I mention that what I heard last night hasn't changed the most important reason why I could never vote for any ticket with Sarah Palin on it? She still reminds me of that self-absorbed, snarky prom queen student council president that made high school such a hell. Nothing can change that. That's just who she is.
