The first day of spring was all about escaping the dreary winter weather with a fashion show inside a garden of flowers and springtime warmth.

Benjamin Cottrell hosted an exclusive event combining fashion and music for the Spring Awakening Fashion Show at City Escape Greenhouse. Benefitting Chicago Gateway Green, the evening featured music from Miss Heart of Illinois 2013, Marisa Buchheit, Candid Concert Opera Company, and world-renowned cellist, Ian Maksin. Models strutted down the intimate runway in pieces by Chicago fashion designers LH Couture, Stix & Roses, and Tres Haute Chic.

Powdered hues with a few shocks of vibrant jewel tones and fabrics that showcased movement reigned supreme on this catwalk. Sararose Krenger stole the show with her Stix & Roses spring line that highlighted the free spirit of boho-chic with a romantic color palette of powder pink, pale yellow, and mauve. Flowing skirts, asymmetrical necklines, and A-line dresses are the heart of her collection providing feminine and flirty options for spring.

Check out my favorite looks from the runway and the beautiful gardens in the gallery below!
