See our video compilation on the fallout from White House meddling in the Colorado Senate Democratic primary, framed by two statements from U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet earlier this year that sound more significant to us in retrospect...

"I wish you were running a primary against one of the people that is causing the problems we're talking about," said Bennet during a February debate with Romanoff, referring to their areas of agreement on health care reform. See more of that debate at ColoradoElection2010.com.

"I've been in Washington for only a year," said Bennet in a campaign TV ad that aired in March. "But it didn't take that long to see the whole place is broken. It's time to give them a wake-up call."

The wake-up call needed, unfortunately for Bennet (and Romanoff), is for a Republican to win that seat in November.
