Last Monday was International Women's Day, which offered a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the glorious, beautiful, strong, demure, sweet, forceful mothers, grandmothers, sisters, wives, friends, colleagues, sh-ero's, etc. among us.
Across the globe, women are making their way in this world, step-by-step, supporting, leading and raising the next generation alongside the amazing men in their lives.
Thursday night, Ladies America and our founding, local DC chapter, Ladies DC, celebrated International Women's Day with some of the most outstanding, dedicated women I have had the pleasure of meeting.
Take a look at this picture -- within this lineup are military veterans, college graduates, business owners, mothers, non-profit founders, a woman who survived homelessness AND cancer, a women working in international security, a woman who studied and graduated from the London School of Economics... and so much more.
That photo represents the women across our country who are slowly but surely working together, united to help leave the world a little better than they found it. Take another look... the diversity represented here is gorgeous, the collaboration -- stunning, and, personally, it all makes me smile from the inside, out. Hoping everyone had a happy International Women's Day!
