San Francisco, CA - If you look at the National League West Standings you will see the Los Angeles Dodgers distancing themselves in first place. However, the Giants are not out contention. In fact, they're about to turn things around and it began with their 7-1 win against the White Sox.

The one thing manager Bruce Bochy had been quoted saying is "the team needs timely hits". San Francisco found their missing offense and proved their faith which had guided them through the rough times is now a reality.

"We've been in this situation before," said Angel Pagan who sparked the offensive run in the Giants recent win. "We have to stay consistent and find a way to win ball games."

Every game and every series is now important. With a month and a half left San Francisco's focus has become more serious. For a team that's won the World Series in three years, they have been here before and knows what it takes to excel despite the obstacles.

They injuries took a toll on the Giants losing their starting first and second baseman. Ideally, you miss the at-bats in the lineup but the guys who were called up have been filling in just fine. However at this point, the anticipation of Brandon Belts return is welcomed by all.

"I think there's a sense of urgency for everyone right now, especially with a month and a half left in the season," Brandon Crawford said. "He's [Belt] a middle of the lineup guy and not having him in there weakens are lineup.

San Francisco snapped their five game losing streak and earned just their second victory in their last eight home games. The Giants had a much needed day off yesterday and will host the Philadelphia Phillies for a three-game series before heading back on the road.

"I think the dogs day will end, " said Pagan. "And they'll end right now."
