Ahhh, the media - like magpies eyeing a shiny bauble, it's still doing backflips over "the miracle in the mine" in Chile.

Instead of, say, focusing on unsafe coal mines in the United States. Or how Massey Energy is trying to dodge blame for the West Virginia disaster in April.

Ooooo, "the miracle in the mine."

Never mind the tsunami of corporate cash that is about to buy the upcoming election for the Republicans.

Ooooo, "the miracle in the mine."

Meanwhile, the media focuses on voter anger about the economy - while rarely making the point that most of that economic turmoil is a result of Republican policies from the previous administration.

Ooooo, "the miracle in the mine."

The media harps on voter dissatisfaction with "Obamacare" - while rarely delineating the lies about it that create that dissatisfaction.

Ooooo, "the miracle in the mine."

The media focuses on voter anger over bank bailouts - without pointing out that they were initiated by George W. Bush's administration.

Ooooo, "the miracle in the mine."

The media homes in on voters unhappy with the course the country is taking - offering little context about the fact that it's taken this long for Pres. Obama to try to wrestle the country back on track.

Ooooo, "the miracle in the mine."

We get endless headlines about how ineffective the Democrats have been - with little reporting about Republicans' total obstructionist stance.

Ooooo, "the miracle in the mine."

Hmmm - that's getting kind of old. Time for a new celebrity scandal to distract us until the election, isn't it?
