After 12 years of giving diners a taste of elevated New Indian Cuisine, Tabla is set to close its doors on December 30th of this year.
The restaurant, owned by the Union Square Hospitaliy Group (USHG), made the announcement Thursday afternoon.
Tabla's 11 Madison Avenue location will be shut down, but USHG has said they are open to finding another space that could house the restaurant. They say the size of the restaurant (283 seats) made it financially unsustainable, particularly in the current economic climate.
As for the Tabla space, USHG says they are still deciding if they will bring another business into the existing location or lease it to another restaurant.
