WATCH: Clean Drinking Water for All

We knew that we couldn't follow through on our promise of delivering the freshest water if we weren't doing our part to help those in need. Eight-hundred million people don't have access to clean water. That's 1 in 9 people on Earth.

In April, Soma--makers of the smart, sustainable, beautiful water filter--went with charity: water to Ethiopia to see the water projects Soma's customers are supporting. It sounds simple, but what we saw stunned us: an entire village received their "drinking" water from a swamp-like hole in the ground. Some traveled miles to provide their families with water that would likely make them sick.

It was humbling. We knew that we couldn't follow through on our promise of delivering the freshest water if we weren't doing our part to help those in need. Eight-hundred million people don't have access to clean water. That's 1 in 9 people on Earth.

We partnered with charity: water so that each time a Soma filter shows up on your doorstep, we donate a portion of the proceeds to fund clean water projects around the world. To date, charity: water has funded almost 9,000 water projects in 20 countries, providing 3 million people with clean drinking water.

The following is a video of the trip. To learn more about Soma and get involved, visit www.drinksoma.com.
