Remember the good old days when we all thought "global warming" just meant things were going to get a little hotter?

Simpler times.

We now identify global warming as a trigger for climate change (see last week's "What on Earth?") and the effects of climate change are far more dramatic than just a few additional beads of sweat as you mow your lawn. Those who question the seriousness (if not reality) of climate change are inclined to pronounce, as Kito does in today's comic strip, that global warming will actually benefit us.

Are there benefits we can enjoy from a warming globe? Research says yes. Do the benefits outweigh the negatives? Research says no.
