Generation44's Inaugural Summit Aims to Cultivate Young Leaders

In a year when the Dems are predicted to lose the Senate, the DNC has decided to rebrand itself. From their newly designed website ( to their effort to embrace the momentum of the youth who invigorated President Obama's election, there is something refreshing happening behind the scenes at the DNC. "Gen44," or Generation 44, is a part of the DNC made up of young professional Democrats. They have set their priority to cultivating and empowering the rising generation within the Democratic Party.

Gen44 has put together several low-cost events across the country, bringing in leaders like David Plouffe to speak about leadership. From organizing the events to attendance, Gen44 has so far proved quite successful.

On September 30, Gen44 kicks of its Inaugural Summit, featuring a concert with the President himself and musician, B.o.B., in Washington, DC. During the weekend, those who stay for the summit will have the opportunity to meet with DNC and Administration officials who will brief them on everything from New Media Outreach to Intelligence Policy.

As a member of Gen44, I see this low cost summit as an opportunity for fellow leaders to receive rare mentoring that hasn't been so easily available in the past to young, politically involved, people.

If you'd like to take part in this summit, attend the concert or the panel discussions, or sponsor a young leader's trip, please e-mail me directly and I'll follow up with the speakers list and details. Looking forward to meeting young leaders from around the country!
