15 Cartoons That Perfectly Capture The Reality Of Feeding Kids

By Norine Dworkin-McDaniel & Jessica Ziegler of Science of Parenthood

Damned if kids don't demand to be fed each and every day. And yet, as any parent who's played the Open Up, Here Comes The Airplane game knows, your kitchen could get three Michelin stars, and your kid still wouldn't eat what you've prepared.

Ideally, meal times should be filled with endless adventure as parents introduce children to deliciously diverse cuisines. But more often than not, meal times are actually filled with frustration, rage, and the kinds of stains that won't come out of clothing or curtains no matter how many times the dry cleaner tries.

We dug into our archives, pulling together cartoons from our three books--Science of Parenthood: Thoroughly Unscientific Explanations for Utterly Baffling Parenting Situations, The Big Book of Parenting Tweets and The Bigger Book of Parenting Tweets--to capture the challenging, messy, hilarious reality of what it's really like to feed and dine with kids. Bon Appetit!
