This is what was written on a colossal chalkboard at Sterling Vineyards in Calistoga, CA, and there was plenty of chalk for people to fill in the blanks.

I've never heard of soul searching as a prerequisite to wine tasting but there it was -- this huge blackboard of hope patiently waiting for people to scrawl their dreams.

Here's a peek at some of them:

See the Eiffel Tower.

Embrace all adventure.

Write a New York Times bestseller.

Become immortal.

I'm grateful for this whimsical chalkboard because it's a wake-up call for us to become adventuresome and go after our hopes and dreams before the deadline of death.

Right now I'm reading the book: "Don't Die with the Music Still in You," which has the same effect as the chalkboard. It splashes water on your face, reminding you to be bold and audacious, reminding you you're not immortal, reminding you that you're always at a crossroads of adventure and regret.
