Do You Have a Life-Threatening Case of Hope?

I asked my husband what he thought I'd die of.

"Hope," he answered, with smile.

I had to laugh. I don't know what the statistics are, but hope may well be the number 1 killer of optimists.

Kidding aside, optimists are eternally hopeful because they're not distracted by the world as it is in real time. On the contrary, they see the world with their dream realized and hold to that vision.

Their life blood is pulsing with inspiration from quotes like this one from Henry David Thoreau:

"If you advance confidently in the direction of your dreams, and endeavor to live the life you have imagined, you will meet with a success unexpected in common hours ... If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost: That is where they should be. Now put the foundation under them."

Do you classify yourself as an optimist? If so, do you think you're going to die from hope, too?
