We are all so much more than a bunch of abbreviations. Whether you work full-time or take care of the kids full-time... Parenting is tough... Damn tough...

Everything is so neat and tidy nowadays in a society where every texting character counts. When I first started writing a book and blogging about parenthood, I had to be a quick study on terms like SAHP (stay at home parent) or FTWP (full-time working parent). There are the WAHP's (work-at-home parents) and the WOH's who just work out of the home. We all know everyone is talking about their LO's (little ones) and often giving TMI (too much information) although sometimes, it just makes you want to LOL or ROFL or ROFFL, depending on your mood. So it got me to thinking:

What am I? Seriously, what am I.

I work full-time.
I work the night shift.
My wife works full-time.
She works the day shift.
She takes care of the kids after school at night.
I take care of the kids before school in the morning.

Maybe I'm a FTNSWPSAHMO -- that's a full-time, night shift working parent who stays at home in the mornings only.

But then, I haven't accounted for SLEEP.

If you're a parent like me, then you're probably tired. All the time. You're probably an SDOA (sleep-deprived overachiever)

So I guess I'd be FTNSWPSDOASAHMO (full-time, night shift-working parent, sleep-deprived overachiever stay-at-home mornings only).

But what about how much LOVE we all shower on the kids? We all love them, a lot. Of course we do. We're FOL (full of love)

So I guess I'd be the FTNSWPSDOAFOLSAHMO (full-time, night shift-working parent, sleep-deprived overachiever full of love, stay-at-home mornings only).

But what about how much MONEY we all shower on the kids? We all spend money on the kids, a lot of it. We're BTB (breaking the bank).

So I guess I'd be the FTNSWPSDOAFOLBTBSAMO (full-time, night shift-working parent, sleep-deprived overachiever full of love, breaking the bank, stay-at-home mornings only)

The bottom line: We are all so much more than a bunch of abbreviations. Whether you work full-time or take care of the kids full-time... Parenting is tough... Damn tough... (that's PIT, DT) And we all deserve huge applause from our kids and a cushy retirement. We better stick together! IMO (in my opinion) HTH (hope this helps). Dadmissions.
