The purpose of my Hidden Gems series is to guide smart travelers to lesser-known experiences, beyond the standard Google search. The Internet might tell you that every Caribbean island is known for its special "thing." In Grenada it's spices. In Jamaica, it's reggae and jerk. But what you may not know is that in the Turks & Caicos, they've got something really special: the conch.

Conchs grow in abundance around the island. It's the Turks & Caicos's biggest export, and the locals use every part of the conch from the shell to the meat. Case and point, Peter heads to Da Conch Shack in Provo.

Watch as Peter experiences the ocean-to-plate philosophy throughout the Turks & Caicos along with a few other culinary hidden gems.
