Dog Ears Music: Volume Twelve

Talking Heads
Founded around 1974, this band was the original geek squad of new wave funk. Their first gig was in 1975 when they opened up for The Ramones at CBGBs. "Life During Wartime," off the album Fear Of Music, was the band's third release, produced by the brilliant and revolutionary Brian Eno. Fear Of Music should be in everyone's music library. Blind Lemon Jefferson
Blind Lemon Jefferson was born in 1893 in Couchman, Texas. He was one of seven children and was born blind. One of the earliest black folk blues singers to become commercially successful, he was discovered by Paramount Records in Dallas, Texas. His recordings have the old crackle-vinyl sound which is so refreshing these days next to the clean sound of digital. Jefferson died in 1929 but leaves behind a history of music.
