Sure there are. Visit my tribes' casino and enjoy any number of traditional dishes in our steakhouse...

Like ALL culinary arts throughout the world, our food has evolved to reflect trade. What would Italian food be without the Native American tomato? Or Irish cuisine without the Native American potato? Yes, we cultivated these two crops (and in the case of tomatoes, made them edible to begin with) long before anybody else was using them. Other Native American foods that have impacted cultures around the world that were not available until the 1500's? Chocolate. Corn. Sweet Potatoes. Peanuts. Avocados. Mangos. Papaya. Pumpkin (where would we be on halloween if it were not for this Native American squash?) Chives, black walnut, acorns, pecans, black cherry, blueberries, cranberries, elderberries. And so much more...

All that wouldn't have existed without Native Americans and their farming practices. Look at that small list. There is way more, this is just what comes to mind.

Think of all the cultures that now use our foods...

Have you ever eaten a bowl of chili? Thats a native american dish. How about popcorn? These are really common foods a lot of people do not know the origins of. Smoked salmon, cranberry sauce, turkey, etc...

As stated, my tribe specifically has our own culinary culture based on local ingredients, with incorporated ingredients added in. If you visit our reservation, you'll get a taste of the things we enjoy... such as our seafood linguini or one of my personal favorites, cedar-plank smoked salmon with potatoes and wild rice and a side of chada bread.
