We struggle in our own light, and believe it would be arrogant and conceited on our part to stand in our own magnificence.

Last week, I was in Philadelphia for a seminar.

I met several people there who have now become good friends. Many came up to me and said something to this effect, "Rani, you've accomplished so much! We cannot believe that aside from being such a successful designer, you are now writing all these amazing books!" Ah... just the words I wanted to hear. I smiled, looking at them and said "Thank you! You just said to me the words I have been waiting a lifetime to hear from my father."

It's truly fascinating, is it not? The fact that there are words we are all waiting and hoping to hear from someone else. For the day that someone would validate us and tell us, "You are doing a great job, you are talented, smart, fabulous, and lovable just as you are"

We are seeking validation from the outside world. Hoping that others out there will affirm that we are good enough. Until then we feel empty and incomplete, and lacking in our own eyes. We have disowned ourselves. What others see in us, we refuse to see in ourselves. The words we speak to ourselves, in our minds, and over our circumstances, we would never say to our best friends. Why do we torture ourselves so?

We struggle in our own light, and believe it would be arrogant and conceited on our part to stand in our own magnificence.

Marianne Williamson said it best:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Let us change our mindset, our self-talk. We must start today to honor and appreciate all that we do well. Let us own our successes, our uniqueness, and embrace all our gifts and talents, our beauty, our health, happiness, and creativity.

And all the traits that seem least to describe us at the present moment? Let us especially speak those over ourselves. To embrace that we are rich and successful even though we may be in debt now; to embrace being lovable even though we may be lonely and alone at the present moment; to embrace being healthy and whole even though we may be currently struggling with health issues. Let us own all the positive traits and see ourselves with new eyes, a new set of beliefs, with conviction. Let's promise ourselves that we will leave all our stories and excuses behind us, and look outwards at the new world where we are good enough, deserving enough, and more than worthy of loving and being loved.

We have the power to trick our subconscious mind into believing the best for ourselves, so that we may reach our highest potential. Consciously and purposely speak and believe only the good that you wish for yourself. You have the power. God has blessed us with that power.

Let us start with the words: I AM...

The two most powerful words.

What we place after these, shape our beliefs and determine our destiny. Let us be mindful about the words we speak:

"I am healthy. I am Blessed. I am brilliant. I am successful. I am loved. I am beautiful. I am sexy..." are some of the words that if we continue to speak over ourselves, will propel us to achieve self confidence, regain our self-worth, and elevate our consciousness to levels that will take us to new heights and happiness that is beyond measure.

Granted many of these may bring up sadness and emotions that are uncomfortable, ones that you would rather not feel. They may not even be true in your current reality, but you know that these are words that reflect what you really ache to be and feel. Go on, and say them anyway. And continue to say them with persistence and conviction, until you start believing them.

They say a lie, repeated enough times, becomes a truth. By repeating positive words consistently, you are actually manifesting your wonderful reality. And it will become your life.

And that, my friends, is the Truth!
