The USC Annenberg School for Communication, the Center on Communication Leadership and the USC Unruh Institute of Politics hosted a viewing party to watch Barack Obama's acceptance speech on Thursday, August 28. University professor Geoffrey Cowan, communication professor Tom Hollihan, journalism school director Geneva Overholser and Dan Schnur, director of the Unruh Institute and former communications director for John McCain, led a discussion analyzing political speech and media coverage of the 2008 presidential election.
