Go ahead -- call me unadventurous and old-fashioned. Yes -- I crave for simpler times when words meant what they said.
- I want "News Anchors" to be grounded reporters and not glamorous fashionistas. I don't want "News to Go" -- I want news to stay.
- I want "Home and Garden" shows to give me tips on how to redo my outdated house and renew my overgrown patch -- gradually. What I don't want is an impeccably designed team of perfectly chiseled bodies to transform cluttered spaces into ingenious works of art -- overnight.
- I want "Cooking" segments to teach me how to cook. I tune in to fine tune my rusty culinary skills; not to reluctantly rally behind smart-talking chefs, superhero bakers and quirky characters looking for a quick shot at fame. When did talking back and talking down become key ingredients to cooking well?
- I want my "Elected Officials" to be decent folks who have our backs and not boorish bullies who stab us (and each other) in the back. I want them to follow in the footsteps of Solon instead of dancing to the drumbeat of Draco. (And can you blame me for wanting "trump" to mean "exemplary" again?)
