A chill in the air, and a few moments before the holiday madness make for a pleasant November weekend. Here are a few ways to get out there, and explore the city. Look for more ideas on our website -- The Family Savvy -- including a terrific Samurai show at LACMA and Hollywood Costume at the Academy.

TRY THIS:
This month’s Downtown Art Walk offers a leisurely chance to take a self-guided tour through over 40 galleries. Start your weekend (and maybe even holiday shopping) early, this Thursday, November 13.
The Skirball has set up a wonderful activity for your little ones this weekend. Inspired by the Light & Noir exhibition, kids can participate in a mystery adventure to figure out what happened to Mildred’s purse. Sunday, November 16 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM.
MIDDLE SCHOOL:
This weekend, the Library Foundation of Los Angeles is bringing its Library Store on Wheels to Artists and Fleas in DTLA. Books on Wheels!
A new wave of boy band heartthrobs is entering the scene. Australian group 5 Seconds of Summer will be performing this Saturday, November 15 at the Forum.
ADULTS:
A highlight of CAP UCLA's season, The Old Woman tells the tale of a struggling young writer, starring Mikhail Baryshnikov and Willem Dafoe. The New York Times calls it, "a two-man vaudeville extravaganza”…get tickets and find out why!
EVERYONE:
In partnership with the Peterson Museum, The Ultimate Car Exhibit at the Reagan Library offers a fantastic opportunity to see historic cars up close and in person. The exhibit is open through 2015, but the Heads of State Gallery featuring cars built for Heads of State in various countries will be on display starting this Monday, November 17.
