r/TheFappening Founder Speaks Out: 'I'm Not a Bad Person'

In a discussion with our What's Trending writer Lon Harris, the once anonymous man behind r/TheFappening, John Meneses, reveals himself. The controversial sub-Reddit brought in an estimated 250 million page views before being suddenly shut down last week.

Although Meneses argues that fighting child porn on the sub-Reddit was his top priority, it nonetheless was eventually taken down after Reddit administrators received numerous complaints about photos with underage celebrities. Additionally, Meneses defends his decision to maintain the sub-Reddit, and even share these stolen photos, because they were already out there in the world, and he was not ultimately responsible for their release.
