Californian music duo Brandon & Leah treat the What's Trending studio to a live performance of their song, "Showstopper," widely known as the theme song from Kourtney & Kim Take Miami. The couple also chat about married life, their upcoming "Cronies" EP and teaching their dog to surf.

Having grown up in Malibu and moved Santa Monica, it's no surprise that the couple's very first musical release will be beachy and reggae-influenced. "It's got a bit more heart and it's something that we've been working on for a long time," says Brandon Jenner.

"It really just sort of deepens the relationship and the connection," Leah Felder says of working with her husband. "It's not just our private personal lives but it's our business life, so it enriches all aspects of it."

The artists were signed to a major label for a few years and then decided to leave and produce tunes on their own "Slowly, we're watching it grow in the things that we are doing ourselves instead of a big machine behind us," Felder says. "It's really cool to be able to do it on our own and use the people that we have the people that we know to gain those things."

Even though family connections helped get their "Showstopper" hit on TV, Felder says, At the end of the day, you have to have talent. It doesn't matter who you know or what you use." She continues to speak about media pressure that often comes along with a career in entertainment. "People sort of want you to fail in a way," she says. "But it actually has been the opposite. We've gotten so much love and so much support." She cites fans making homemade videos to their songs (including Ben Gleib in his green G-string).

In terms of what's to come, Jenner reveals that the next EP should arrive rather quickly. "I love the environment that the music business is in now because you don't have to wait a year to get the next record. We want to put things out really consistently."

Keep your ears open and eyes peeled for Brandon & Leah's upcoming acoustic, unplugged performance of seven new songs, and, of course, the "Cronies" EP, due out April 9.
