The year 2016 is certainly turning out to be one of the most exciting in the history of the cruise line industry with the launching of three new ships designed and destined to change forever the cruise experience many have enjoyed in the past.

1. Carnival Vista

It has been four years since Carnival, the world's largest cruise line, has introduced a new vessel. But the wait appears to be worth it, as the Carnival Vista promises to be not only Carnival's biggest but also its most exciting ship ever built. For example, the Carnival Vista will feature the first-ever IMAX at sea, a 455-foot waterslide they call a Kaleid-O-Slide because it will take passengers through a '70s-inspired light and color experience, a SkyRide invented by the genius behind rollerblades that will take power pedaling to new heights (on an 800-foot track 40 feet above the top deck) where passengers will now be able to ride a bike in the sky. Additionally, the Vista will offer kids' camps, adults-only serenity pools, and a RedFrog microbrewery.

The Vista will home-port in Athens, Barcelona, New York, and of course Miami.

2. Regent Seven Seas Explorer

Also this year, Regent will debut it much-anticipated Explorer, a suite-only 738-passenger vessel decorated with the finest marble and stones. Prices range, but the top-of-the-line Regent Suite books for $10,000 a day. Included in the fare is roundtrip airfare, a personal chauffeur and guide in each port, unlimited in-cabin massage services, a personal butler, and an enormous wraparound balcony.

Regent traditionally offers its passengers all-inclusive plans with unlimited dining, drinks, excursions, and gratuities. Few people know or understand that Regent Seven Seas, the ultra-luxury cruise line, is really a wholly owned subsidiary of Norwegian Cruise Lines. This might not be a bad thing, as Regent Seven Seas provides some of the best and safest cruise experiences at sea.

3. Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas

RCCL's Harmony of the Seas is currently the largest cruise ship in the world. Its 5479 passengers enjoyed the maiden voyage on May 29, 2016. The gigantic ship has four swimming pools, ten hot tubs (two of which cantilever over the side of the ship), two surf wave simulators, an ice-skating rink, a full aquatic theater, zip lines, and rock climbing.

Passengers seeking a more sedate experience may relax with a martini mixed by a robotic bartender, or enjoy one of the 20 dining venues that range from Mexican to something RCCL calls Alice in Wonderland, which claims to serve imaginative food that has "never been seen before."

No matter how innovative and luxurious these new ships may be, cruising on them still subjects passengers to certain perils. Typical cases include passengers who have slipped, tripped, and fallen on wet decks, uneven thresholds, or poorly designed and dimly lit staircases. Our legal team wishes everyone a safe trip this summer!
